The Protector of All Living Things
When I was in high school, my parents moved us to a farm in the Methow Valley. We had a cattle ranch, along with chickens, a goat, horses, dogs, and cats. Beyond the fence line, the wild was always present—coyotes, rattlesnakes, cougars, bears, deer, and an abundance of birds. Something is There
Like my brother, I have always loved animals. I would spend hours watching ants make their steady journeys across the patio, or building tiny stick homes for the delicate sow bugs that curled softly in the palm of my hand.
